Message from the Board

The Board of Directors believes that high standards of corporate governance translate to high standards of corporate performance and are therefore a priority.

The Board’s principal duty is to create and grow shareholder value by monitoring and reviewing strategy and its development, the financial and operational performance of the Company and risk management. Furthermore, the Board expends significant time and focus on matters that may affect the future of the organization, environments, regions, jurisdictions and communities in which the Company operates or seeks to operate.

The Board supports the Company’s executive management teams to achieve the balance required between short-term requirements and mid to longer-term growth objectives.

    Peter Gaze Chairman and Non-Executive Director

    Peter Gaze has been a director of Caribbean Investment Holdings Limited since 2007 and was appointed Chairman on October 8, 2019. He is also a non-executive Director of Marlowe Holdings PLC, Waterloo Investment Holdings Limited, Carlisle Support Services Group Limited and Hawley Group Limited.

    Mr. Gaze was previously Chief Financial Officer of Caribbean Investment Holdings Limited from 1997 to 2015 and of Waterloo Investment Holdings Limited from 2011 to 2015.

    During its expansion in the UK and US in the period leading up to its acquisition by Tyco International in 1997, Mr. Gaze was a senior financial executive at ADT Group Limited.

    Mr. Gaze trained with the international accounting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers in London and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

    Lyndon Guiseppi Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director

    Mr. Lyndon Guiseppi was appointed as Chief Executive Officer and Director of CIHL in July 2008 and currently chairs the boards of its two major subsidiaries: The Belize Bank Limited and Belize Bank International Limited.

    Prior to joining CIHL, Mr. Guiseppi held executive management positions at several Caribbean financial institutions culminating in his assumption of the Managing Director position at RBTT Merchant Bank in Trinidad and Tobago, immediately prior to joining CIHL.

    In addition to Mr. Guiseppiā€™s involvement in the Financial Services Sector spanning a period of 28 years, Mr. Guiseppi has held several significant board positions at various times representing the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers Association, British Caribbean Chamber of Commerce, Development Finance Limited and RGM Limited - one of the largest property development companies in the Eastern Caribbean.

    Mr. Guiseppi is the author of several industry publications including, Project Financing in the Caribbean and Financing A Mining Project In An Emerging Market - both of which were published by the prestigious Project Finance Yearbook in 2000 and 2001, respectively.

    Over the years, Mr. Guiseppi has consulted with several Caribbean multi-lateral organizations and also sat on several Cabinet Appointed Committees charged with the responsibility of reviewing the financial services sector in Trinidad and Tobago.

    Mr. Guiseppi holds an M.Sc in Economics from the University of the West Indies.

    Philip Osborne Director and Company Secretary

    Philip Osborne has been Company Secretary of CIHL since 1993 and a director of CIHL since 2007. Mr. Osborne is a solicitor and a member of the Law Society of England and Wales.

    Before joining CIHL, Mr. Osborne worked as a legal adviser to the London Stock Exchange and The Securities Association in the United Kingdom and for the international law firms of Clifford Chance and S. J. Berwin & Co. He is also a member of the Belize Bar Association. Mr. Osborne is also a director of Carlisle Support Services Group Limited.

  • Stewart Howard Non-Executive Director

    Mr. Stewart Howard has over twenty-three years of banking experience and has worked in varying fields in finance from Corporate Banking, Trade Finance, Risk Management, Forex, Operations, Commercial & Retail Lending and Card Services. He started his career with Republic Bank Limited in Trinidad, and in 2010 joined The Belize Bank Limited in Belize later transferring to British Caribbean Bank Limited (BCB) in the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI). In June 2012, Mr. Howard was appointed Managing Director of BCB. During his tenure in the Turks and Caicos Islands he served as the President of the Banking Association of TCI and has worked throughout the region including Trinidad, Barbados, Cuba, Belize and the Turks and Caicos Islands. Mr. Howard is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Waterloo Investment Holdings Limited, a public company listed on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.

    Mr. Howard is a graduate of the Institute of Banking and Finance as the valedictorian in addition to reading for Management and Finance at the University of West Indies where he graduated with 1st Class Honours.
